HEY THERE! I'M MEG.
I LOVE CAPTURING REAL, DAY IN AND DAY OUT, MESSY, CRAZY, BEAUTIFUL LIFE IN PHOTOGRAPHS.
Because let's face it. Some of us just aren't organized enough to have each kid's baby book beautifully decorated and up to date with all the super cute things that they've said and done. Nah. I'm the one that buys the books and they sit on the table taunting me that I never actually took the time to fill them out.
THIS is why I love making photographs. Especially ones that tell my story. My family's story. The everyday memories and story of the world going on around me.
And let me just say, that everyday world in our house is kinda insane. I mean,  I live with 3 boys. It gets kinda gross sometimes.
Here's the thing though. I want my kids to remember who they are. I want them to be able to look back on our family photos and FEEL who they are and where they came from. I want them to remember their lives and their family and their friends, and me.
That's what my photos do for me. They make me FEEL the memories. When I look back at our old family albums I am transported back in space and time to the actual moment happening. I know the sights, sounds, and smells. I'm drawn back into the memories. Especially the ones I forget to remember.
All this from a photograph.

Them snapping beans from the garden sends memories flooding back of hot summers spent snapping beans and shucking corn with my Nanny and Papa.

I love telling stories about the world around me through my photographs, especially the seemingly mundane daily life of family and love and friends and anything that is real and normal and part of the life we all live. Even the messy parts we don't want others to see.
Sometimes we forget to let every little memory seep into our souls.
